I really hate the big grey mass that pro sport has become - give me more mcenroe's, Mourinho or Vinny Jones types (perhaps not on the pitch ), might make the average interview worth listening to!
I don't think she was seriously putting forth a proposal

The problem is that the fans are as much to blame for the tedious interviews as anyone. You look on here when a manager or player dares to venture anything that resembles an opinion and you will see them being attacked for all sorts of perceived crimes of arrogance, stupidity etc. There is no mileage in giving interesting press so everyone now models themselves on Alan Shearer in interviews and you can't really blame them.

I give them, well old whiskeynose only really, a though time as well, but that doesn't mean I would like him to become part of the grey mass.

I mean people like him actually make us discuss, and hence make it more interesting. It's a shame for the sport if there are no personalities. I like having them there, if for nothing else, then at least because it gives me something to rage about

Mister Alex Ferguson Critical Of Liverpool's Handling Of Michael Owen

Michael Owen should have been awarded an extended holiday period by Liverpool following his exploits for an England Under-20 side before he was propelled into international super-stardom, according to Mister Alex Ferguson, who hints that the striker may have received different treatment had he been educated at Manchester United.

Ferguson's critique coincided with the club's tour of Malaysia, where Owen excelled in a 1997 tournament for the U-20's, he was immediately reintroduced to the Liverpool team upon his return to England, and then the following summer was afforded little break as he aided England's cause in the 1998 World Cup.

Ferguson is quoted by Sport as saying, “We had Ronnie Wallwork and John Curtis playing in that England Under-20 squad in Malaysia in 1997 and when they came back we gave them six weeks off. But Michael went straight into the Liverpool first team then a year later was playing in the World Cup for England.

“That was unfair to a young player to have that kind of strain and intensity one summer after another.”

“I wouldn’t have done that but he was such a talent that Liverpool needed him in the team and then England needed him in the World Cup.”

Ferguson then added that he fully expects Owen to repay the faith that the Scot has given him, and that he will silence his very vocal critics.

“Experience is vital and I know Michael will score a lot of goals for us.

“He will give us experience in the penalty box. That is what he has been great at for years.”

He just can't stop talking about us

Should lay off the bottle for a while, until he can handle that we are genuine title contenders and soon to overtake his own pile of **** squad.

Fergie really does bring a lot of this upon himself, by coming out with ****e like this.

So did we treat Michael Owen badly?

To be fair to the drunken old cunt, he never actually said that - it's the journalist who says that he hinted it.

But the idiot did say this in his tribute to Sir Bobby...

" I was never too big or proud to ask him for advice which he gave freely and unconditionally. And I'm sure I am speaking for a lot of people when I say that.
errr. is the bit in bold a tribute to sir bobby or to sir alex?

I know it's not as bad as it sounds but ffs... he could have phrased it better! It's a tribute to a great man after all

Those quotes are pretty old....surprised they've taken so long to surface. It was in the Manchester Evening News after he signed. It annoyed me then, and it's annoying me now.

Firstly, Michael Owen's situation cannot be compared to those of Ronnie ****ing Wallwork or John cunting Curtis FFS. Those two are lower league dross, the other is Michael Owen. FFS.

Secondly, it wasn't long ago when Mr Hypocrite himself said he and United prided themselves on buying young players and giving youth a chance (Macheda most recently) and if they're good enough they're old enough - whereas Liverpool and Rafa prefer to buy older, already-established talent.

And now he's slagging us off for doing exactly as he boasts of doing. WHAT. A. CUNT.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
