I look at the stats and it just makes me so pissed off. Pacheco was the highest appearance holder yet played in only 21 competitive games last year! How can that be right.

        It's a ****ing joke.
        Forwards.......

It was already failing, any control he wanted was borne from a desire to make positive changes to the setup. If he'd done nothing we'd have a much worse crop of youngsters than we have.

Anyway, he has control over the academy, he's wanted that for years now, let's see what he can do.
Maybe he thinks they are way below the level required which is why they haven't had a chance, the players that he's moved on don't seem to be any great loss, if they were good enough they'd be doing well at other clubs and playing at Premiership level again. There aren't any players (with the possible exception of Warnock) that he let go that you'd think could do a job, so to me that vindicates the decision.

There are only 20 games in the reserve league season and we played 3 cup games. So he played in 21 out of 23 games.

The reserves don't play enough football which is why players need to go out on loan. Which shows the system is a joke.

A more relevent point about the academy is why are Everton picking up the best local youngsters and bringing them through - proving there is local talent there just not at our club.
Seeing as 90% of the lads in the academy system join their club at a young age then come through the age groups that's a question to ask Heighway as it would have been his responsibility during his time in charge and nothing to do with Rafa
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Because every sane local lad who wants to make it as a professional footballer knows he won't get a chance at Liverpool to even play in the reserves.

                      OK. I'm convinced.

I was under the impression it might be a complex issue but obviously I was mistaken.

                      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I heard Rodwell and Gosling are pretty good. That Rooney kid wasn't bad either.

                        Are you talking about Pepper?

Gosling is not local, they bought him from Plymouth. My best mate is an Everton fan and he thinks Rodwell is no better than average.

                          Yes.

You mean the teenage sensation Adam Pepper who's 18 now and can't get a game for the reserves?

                            He's probably not good enough.

                            Rodwell will be very good.
