yeah i do agree towards the end of the season it did seem to shift a bit and a couple of teams did have a go though bottled it. Maybe now they have lost ronaldo it may give a few teams a bit of a lift.

I'm hoping that the run of 1-0 wins and clean sheets cant really be repeated, it's insane to think that could happen with any sort of regularity again to the extent of last season.

Furthermore, where they had Ronaldo, Tevez, Rooney and Berbatov, they were always likely to nick a goal in those tight 0-0 games, to turn 1 point into 3, because with 4 options like that, the chances that ONE of them will find a goal are quite high.

Now it's Berbatov and Rooney, with bit-part showings from Owen (who is only really a finisher, he wont create a goal out of nothing like Ronaldo).

So in games where they're struggling, it should be much harder for them to find that elusive winning goal. Hopefully.

        I loved Owen contribution yesterday.
        Come one.
        Booked for deliberate hand ball.
        Didn't take a penalty.

Are you trying to mimick Rafael Benitez Maudes' prose?

what stood out for me was how vulnerable chelsea look if you play quick attacking passes around their back four line, terry really is showing he's slow. Also without vidic, united freeze when a cross comes in. Good to in the coming season with hopefully we sort out our defensive problems.

I think they will move Mikel out of the holding role or will struggle at times. He offers very little protection to the back four. I think the Terry thing is exaggerated by the fact it is early season - Hyypia used to take a number of games to get into his stride before getting back to being a colossus and I think the same increasingly applies to Terry as he ages.

How **** were the Utd penalties though
The Evra one was quite possibly one of the worse ones I've seen by a professional footballer. If you wanted a demo to show kids how not to take a penalty that would be it

yeah fairly entertaining game, couple of dodgy goals which evened it up, and always good to see the mancs lose a pen shoot out. I do wonder, if the Chavs are in for the league/cl/fa cup come Feb, how long it will take the press to talk up their charge for the quadruple?
