British players overseas

Compared to the amount footballing imports our top flight league has, there have been few exports that have done the business. Which british players who moved abroad do you think have done the best?. A short list off the top of my head to begin with:

Keegan done well, alan mcinally played for Bayern as well, though he was ok from what i remember. John Charles was a legend in Italy. the rest didnt set the world alight, maybe a mention for Lineker as well though

Hargreaves did well at munich. Macmananam did reasonably in a team filled with stars. Beckham did fairly well in Real I guess.

went to inter milan i think, cant remember him doing particularly well

Not even a youngster as such. He was about 20 or 21 I think and went for about 14 million. I don't know how much he played but I'm pretty sure he failed to score.

I am sure the manager that bought him, got sacked pretty much after his signature......then he was bombed out.

You're right about him failing to score, but he only played 6 games for Inter.
