No British broadcaster has secured the rights to screen Spanish football. BSkyB's deal to show La Liga expired in the summer and the satellite giant is reluctant to meet the £15m-a-season asking price.

The UK is a very lucrative market for La Liga (and other top leagues). If their matches are not broadcast over here the bigger picture is that the finances in Spanish footy will suffer.
Really looking forward to la Liga this year too.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

tells me Sky have signed a three year deal for La Liga rights and Real-Depor is the first match.
