    This is nonsense though.

Eduardo will be the only player who gets a ban for diving.

Much like the pathetic 'respect' campaign, which Mascherano was the scapegoat and victim of last season, Eduardo is the victim of this current diving fad.

It'll die down in 2 weeks and only Eduardo will get this punishment, while others continue to dive.

I dont think Wenger has an issue with cheatS being punished.

Quite rightly though, he doesnt want his player to be the single victim of this 'clamp down' - which is likely IMO.

Eduardo got what he deserved, Just like Mascherano. But it will only be fair if everyone gets the same treatment. It didn't happen after JM and it wont happen in this situation either.

Ban everyone or no one for me. Also a bit ridiculous that during a game you get a yellow for diving, but one that goes un noticed you get a two match ban? WTF is that all about?

This ban was extremely stupid and irrational. Retrospective bans should only apply to violent conduct; players cheat all through matches in various forms such as trying to win throw ins, freekicks, handballs, penalties it's up to the ref to put a stop to it.

I'm 100% with Wenger on this.

Seems a little farcical to me and Rooney pretty much did the same as Eduardo on Saturday.

It's a great decision IMO but only really if it sets a precedent. Sadly we all know that's about as likely as a dww post full of swearing, abuse and misogyny.

                    Aye, that's the problem Shaggs.

If they treated everyone the same and dished out bans for diving as the norm, players would stop diving. Which is the whole idea.

But the authorities are utter ****s and wont be consistent with this.

I was about to type the exact same thing - they have to be consistant now and set this as a precedent.

It won't happen though, and then Wenger will certainly have grounds to complain.

They cant possibly be consistent though, if they were about a hundred players would be banned every week around Europe. That simply isnt going to happen.

It's exactly what needs to happen, in the interim, to stop them diving.

The problem is that so much is at stake, that they're happy to dive and encouraged to, because it can win them an important game.

If they faced lengthy bans for it, it'd become too costly a thing to do.
