    No Cech/Cudicini

Chelsea are usually a shambles without Cech. While i don't wish an injury like that on anyone, i fully expect Chelsea to leak goals like a sieve until Cech returns.

It's more to do with the lack of confidence that will start creeping into Terry and Carvalalo's game, like it did at the start of the season.

I think this will have a bearing on the PL race - i'm trying to find a good price on Arsenal winning it this season.

To be fair I think the poor quality of Chelsea when Cech is out is due to Cudicini, even towards the end of his time in the first XI he had started looking shaky. He is undoubtedly a very talented keeper but he seems to need the confidence of being 1st choice to really excel.

It will be interesting to see how Hilario gets on. I have to say I wondered why Mourinho wanted another keeper but he has been proved to be right.

I've mixed feelings about this one.
I certainly think it will open up the title race and Chelsea will start to drop points.

But my worry is that we aren't picking them up while Arsenal and the Mancs, especially, are.

It makes Sundays game of even greater importance.

Al Habsi isn`t bad, but he hasn`t played in the PL yet.
He`s nothing compared to Cech, of course, but could I think he could do a OK job for them.

                          With "hilarious" consequences, hopefully.

                            Petr Cech = 10pt loss?

It looks like Cech is going to miss the whole or most of the season.

                            http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?...s+Chelsea+help

They say the difference between having a good goalkeeper and a great goalkeeper is about 10 pts a season. Schmeicel being the obvious example.

This news is terrible for Chelsea and for Petr especially but the rest of the premiership could gain from it. It could quite possibly be the deciding factor in the title race IMO.

                            Thoughts?
