No because that had nothing to do with the question.

To be fair McFadden is a decent player. No world beater but as good as anyone in David Moyes' team.

He really isnt. He was horrific in the Premier League.

And will be again this season.

He ran Man. Utd ragged when Brum played them at OT earlier this season though.

He has his moments in big international games

But what do you expect Scotland has a tiny pool of players to choose from. Obviously 1 or 2 decent strikers would have made a massive difference

I felt sorry for Scotland. For the size of the nation and the pitiful amount of money they get to spend and developing players, they shouldnt be anywhere near qualifying for a major competition. They overachieve in just giving themselves a chance.

I wanted them to qualify personally.

                    A bit like Holland then.

                        Where did that happen?

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

The reason they haven't qualified is not population, its because they dropped points against the likes of Macedonia and Norway, both of whom have a smaller pool of players to choose from.

Its fair to say that they've underachieved for a long time and this is as much to do with the way football is run in Scotland as it is down to population. Nobody should expect Scotland to win a tournament, but qualification should be realistic.

Yeah lots of smaller nations than Scotland regularly qualify. Just excuses. They used to produce great players. Now they're all utter ****

Smaller pools of players I meant.

Norway has a smaller population, as does Slovenia, then countries with a similarly sized pool of players to choose from such as Denmark, Slovakia, Switzerland, Serbia, Czech Republic. OK so 'lots' was an exaggeration but they're up against similar sized nations who routinely out-perform them.
