The Top 10 sponsorship deals they should have signed

Liverpool have announced a new multi-million pound sponsorship deal with Standard Chartered, which is said to be worth £80million over four seasons and sees the name of the bank follow Hitachi, Crown Paints, Candy and Carlsberg on to the famous red shirts.

The deal got MirrorFootball thinking about the sponsorship deals some of our biggest clubs should have signed…

    1) Manchester United - Toni and Guy
The hairdressing salon chain is the perfect fit for the club managed by the man celebrated for the finest half-time cut and blow dry in the business.

    2) Chelsea - lastminute.com
The website that lets you leave things right until the death are the ideal sponsors for Florent Malouda and friends.

    3) West Ham - Alfa Romeo
Both are much-loved thanks to their impressive Italian pedigree, despite their notoriously erratic performances.

    4) Tottenham - Tesco
The supermarket giant is famed for its 'buy two for the price of one' policy… and so is Spurs supremo Harry Redknapp.

    5) Hull City - Orange
The future's not particularly bright, but Phil Brown's definitely still a fetching shade of tangerine.

    6) Portsmouth - DFS
It seems like there's always a sale on at the sofa megastore. The same goes for Fratton Park, although the seats are slightly less comfortable.

    7) Arsenal - Optimax
The short-sighted can often be found in the chair at the laser eye treatment specialists. Rather like the Arsenal dugout, in fact.

    8) Sunderland - Churchill
It's a little-known fact that Steve Bruce and Churchill the insurance dog have never been seen in the same room together. Ohh, yes.

    9) Liverpool - Marks and Spencer
The high street chain's success was built on the back of just two men. Bit like the present Liverpool team.

    10) Manchester City - The Post Office
Because they both deal in second-class stamps.
