    Celtic v Rapid Vienna

Lots of bitterness still from the ex Celtic players who played in the European Cup Winners Cup match from 1984. Partly stoked up by the fact that Rapid plan to commemorate the controversial match by wearing the same all Red strip.

Celtic lost the first leg 3-1 and then won the second leg 3-0. However, UEFA ordered the 2nd leg to be replayed after a bottle throwing incident, and Celtic went on to lose this match 1-0 at Old Toilet. That match was marred by crowd violence and attacks on the Rapid players by some Celtic fans - including one guy who ran on the pitch and punched a Rapid player.

Last part of the video below shows the incident from the 2nd leg. The Rapid keeper should be ashamed of himself, as should the bloke who went to ground "before" a bottle landed.

Unbelievable scenes. Reminds me of 1984 when Dundee United played Roma to see who would play us in the European Cup final. They were 2-0 up from the first leg but lost the second 3-0. A few months later Roma were found guilty of bribing the ref. Cheating cunts.

Everton beat them in the final. Then couldn't defend the win due to the ban after Hysel. Bitterness followed all round really.
