Jose Baxter Arrested

Everton starlet Jose Baxter has been arrested on suspicion of posessing drugs and counterfeit money.

Highly-rated striker Baxter was one of three men arrested in Kirkby on Monday on suspicion of possession of cannabis and on suspicion of possessing counterfeit money.

The 17-year-old is the youngest player to represent Everton, having made his debut aged 16 years and 191 days against Blackburn Rovers in August 2008.

"We can confirm that three men were arrested in Kirkby on possession of cannabis with intent to supply and on suspicion of possession of counterfeit money," said a spokesman for Merseyside Police.

"The men, 17, 29 and 34 are currently in police custody."

Everton have so far refused to make any comment on the matter.

I'm guessing he was in a car with the other two clowns and the stash was found with no one coming forward and admitting it. I can't for one second think that Baxter needs counterfeit money to fill his pockets and is likely an innocent party in all this.

I was a bit of tit when I was 17 too. Not as much as him granted, but I wasn't supposed to be any sort role model at that age, nor were my indescretions publicised by the media, and scrutinised by the internet community.

On top of that, this will be raised ad-nauseum every time he commits any sort indescretions in his career, from being sent off, to being 'the bad boy' of the dressing room. That angle is now destined to follow him.

Based on that, I'm inclined to give him more than a little slack.
