I reckon he'll get a few coins and bottles thrown in his direction when he's warming up.

        He's a cunt.

He seems hell-bent on bigging United up - and seemingly forgetting his Liverpool routes.

        He's a cunt.

After spells with Real Madrid and Newcastle United, Owen surprised the football world when he ended up at Old Trafford in June.

Owen said: “It’s fantastic working with Sir Alex Ferguson.

“It’s everything you would expect from a top, top team. They are the biggest club in the world, and everything from the kit man to the canteen girls and through to the manager is first class.”
He was always going to get one regardless of these comments.

Does anyone think he'll be avaliable for this game, I imagine he'll "pick up a knock in training" and not travel with the squad
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Haha, back page of the MEN today:

"OWEN BACKTRACKS ON UNITED BIGGEST CLUB CLAIM"

Michael Owen has attempted to play down comments he made in an interview on Wednesday, in which he labelled Manchester United 'probably the biggest club in the world'.

Some people took the statement to be a direct incitement to Liverpool, who United face in what is already set to be a massive game on October 25th, but Owen has attempted to pour cold water on his remarks.

Owen's move to United was the surprise deal of the summer, not just because many doubted he could still cut it at the top level, but also because the 29-year-old spent seven successful seasons at arch rivals Liverpool.

And after former Reds team-mate Jamie Carragher recently warned that he should anticipate a hostile reception from Liverpool fans when he returns to Anfield, many took Owen's assertion to be an inflammatory one.

Owen however, has insisted that he did not mean to provoke any kind of reaction from Liverpool fans, and has attempted to play down the issue, by affirming that he considers Liverpool to be right up there with United.

"I didn't set out to offend anyone. What I said was, in terms of support, revenue and stadium, Man United are probably the biggest in the world but Madrid, Barcelona and Liverpool are up there with them in other areas," he told Sky Sports News.

He also professed that he was looking forward to returning to Anfield, but played down the magnitude of the clash in the wake of his return, issuing the reminder that he has returned to the club before with Newcastle.

"I've been back before with Newcastle a couple of times, so I've played there for an opposing team, but I'm certainly looking forward to this game.

"It will be different, it'll be a bit noisier," he quipped.

Why should he be trying to endear himself to Liverpool Football Club? He left us a long time ago and is now doing what any self respecting professional should do, and that's to show loyalty to his current employer. I dislike him for a number of reasons but bigging up his current team and team mates isn't one of them and doesn't justify any abuse whatsoever. It's a sad deluded individual that thinks anyone that has ever played for LFC must love them forever and ever and ever and must hate Utd even though they're trying to save his career. A bit of common sense on this forum please.
