New boots the reason for a number of ankle injuries?

What do people think of this? Clip of C. Ronaldo's boots just flashed across the TV and they are so low cut that im not suprised he currently has an ankle injury. Does anyone else think that they can heighten the risk of injury? If a player comes in studs up that they are more likely to cause damage to the now lesser-protected side of the ankle? Are we beginning to care too much about style and not about protection?

Boots like this are what i mean

Or am i stupid and there is no difference at all?

The same was said about modern boots when the metatarsal injury was all the rage. I'm sure they don't help, but I don't know really.

There is no way in the world that those are stylish.

Anybody wearing those onto a football pitch deserves everything they get.
      Oh I don't know.

Obvious to most people with the brain power exceeding a wooden door, but they're still all the rage with a lot of footballers and the youth of today (Nando wears something similar ). Always preferred the predator's that Gerrard wears to be honest, they look like a real man's boot.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

These are much safer, plus you can give other players a good kicking in them.
