What is happening with Atletico Madrid?

3rd from bottom in La Liga with 7 points and losing 1-0 to Apoel Nicosia tonight, which if it stays that way would make it difficult for them to even make the Europa League.

Aguero isn't going to stay there much longer. Shame we didn't buy him a few years back and unlikely we can afford him now.

Nah Everton will rise to the occasion on sunday. They roll over for the Mancs and Hull and save all their energy for Liverpool.
"Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. Im not the thief who grabs your purse. Im not the guy who jacks your car. Im not down with the people who steal and hurt others. Im just a brother who fight back."

BBC Sport's chief football writer Phil McNulty: "Looks more and more like Everton's hopes of a ground move lie in tatters. No Destination Kirkby and a serious dilemma for the Everton hierarchy as another bid to leave Goodison Park ends in failure. Knowsley North and Sefton East MP George Howarth is being quoted on Merseyside as saying: 'I deeply regret this decision in a time of significant economic challenge to the whole of Merseyside during a recession.'" just come on the beeb now

...and their night just gets worse

Everton's plans to build a new stadium in Kirkby have been knocked back by the government.

The Toffees had hoped to relocate from their current home at Goodison Park to a new ground outside of Liverpool city centre.

Everton were planning to construct an arena which would hold over 50,000 people and would be ready for use by 2012.

The stadium was supposed to form part of a wider 'Kirkby Project', which would include other retail outlets.

Initial plans were submitted back in February 2007, with stadium proposals put forward in June of the same year.

Knowsley Council approved the plans in June 2008, but two months later the project was called in by the government.

It is now understood that the secretary of state has vetoed the plans, bringing proceedings to a halt.

Let's hope this doesn't revive the talks of a groundshare.
