    Boca Juniors

anyone know if they have any fixtures in january, i'm off in south america in 3 months and wouldn't mind seeing boca play. I could only see fixtures until end of december, maybe thats when the argentinian leage finishes

My spanish is quite poor, but I have a feeling that the league finishes on 13/12/09.
I make no apologies, this is me

The league is on a break then, and the Libertadores wont have started either. They do have plenty of friendlies in January though, Torneo De something it's called, Racing, Independiente, Boca, River and a few others all play against eachother, the atmospheres are just as insane as the league games.

Something I want to do before I die is to go and watch Boca vs River Plate.

It's a bit mad there mate. Had the away crowd above us (?!?!?) and they were constantly spitting on us. Don't worry, eventually you forget it's someone else's body fluid. I think someone took a leak too at some point. Try and go with someone who's already been just for a bit of know how. Was quite an incredible experience. Definitely recommend it and also have a few beers in the Boca old town beforehand. I went in March.

                  Heres a photo:

..and if you're lucky, you could meet the man himself before the game:

p.s. thats the old town in the background.

p.p.s haha, I was so wasted in that photo but it was just a brilliant day.

Jammy *******, thats my dream to go there. It looks completely insane, theres nothing like it. They are just mad for football.

What bit is that you're in, the middle tier behind the goal?

Yeah BA is amazing, probably the best place I've ever been to. Had everything. I have alot to thank a book we took which basically takes you off the tourist trail and throws you into the heart of the city:

If you do go, I can highly recommend taking a copy of this. I'm not in anyway associated with the book but it was spot on.

yeah just following on from that, the reason the book is so good is that BA really is a hedonisitic city. The place doesn't come alive till midnight.

I dread to think of the places recommended by the "must go to bed at 9 to get up at the crack of dawn" tourist guides.
