They do have plenty of friendlies in January though, Torneo De something it's called, Racing, Independiente, Boca, River and a few others all play against eachother, the atmospheres are just as insane as the league games.

              The last few years its started on friday 6th feb, friday 8th feb, friday 9th feb so probably friday 5th of february at a guess, dunno if thats official anywhere though and they can change schedule or get rounds postponed due to violence, debts etc so nothing is ever 100% set.
