He wasn't prepared to fight for his place in two very brief stints at Leverkusen. Can't see him lasting very long in the Premier League either, that is, of course, if Everton manage to stay up this season.
I had no idea he had gone to Bayern earlier this year. Damn. Didn't last long there, did he. Says it all, I suppose. He is most comfortable being the big fish in a small stagnant pond.
i honestly don't see what anyone sees in him. he's a good striker by american standards, but he's incredibly average in a competitve league. he bottles big games, he hides from responsibility, he does a poor impression of someone trying to show leadership skills.
Can see him being a big hit for Everton. He obviously speaks the language and has good friends in the team so will have no problems settling down, which was major problem for him in Germany.
