And that there is the exact reason he should be charged with effectively throwing the game. Like I said before, shameful and utterly embarrassing to just acknowledge you are going to lose before even starting the contest. If we ever did that I think I would give up on the sport in all honesty."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley

The difference with the Wolves situation is that their dumb **** of a manager has publically stated that he was resting his players for what he deemed a more winnable and significant game. He could have made 7 or 8 changes, kept his gob shut and been fine, but he took the piss and then talked to the press about it. Throw the book at them as far as I'm concerned.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

it is a ****ing disgrace and i honestly do not know how anyone can defend mcarthy's actions.
Over the years barnsley have beaten us at anfield, Hull at Arsenal and countless others.......they had a terrific opportunity to go to scum with no defence on the back of 2 wins and go for something
but no.....they gave 9.5 out of 10 on Saturday so couldnt so the same 4 days later at what should have beenfor there players and fans one of the biggest games of the season and the reason for getting to the PL.
i cant believe anyone is comparing it to us, portsmouth or anyone else, this is a new low for the premier league.
its a competion over 38 games, maybe next year Mccarthy might just not turn up for the game, then his precious players wont have to worry about the drive
its a shambles_____________________________________
Weak willed, Wank or do they have a masterplan?
Think we have the answer..Slot!!

He never changed the team to get a result - he had accepted defeat beforehand and the team he put out reflected that. They would never have won with that team, even with a crippled Scum team.Originally posted by Matt View PostWould you be bothered if they'd got the result and then changed 10 players against Bolton or a team of that ilk?
If he did it against Bolton or some other similar team then it would be even worse because they are the teams they are fighting for survival against.
Every game in the PL is tough and it is a duty to the paying audiences that the teams sent out are at least in with a chance of winning."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley

But they wouldn't have done that. They decided they didn't have much chance so waved a white flag because it was Utd. As so many teams do, but in less blatant ways.Originally posted by Matt View PostWould you be bothered if they'd got the result and then changed 10 players against Bolton or a team of that ilk?Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Duty to the fans is a different issue, I agree that they've not had their money's worth.Originally posted by Tee View PostHe never changed the team to get a result - he had accepted defeat beforehand and the team he put out reflected that. But Wolves' agenda is not the same as ours, whilst we're looking at where teams like Utd might slip up, Wolves are thinking about how best to attain 40-odd points. It's up to the manager to put his resources where he sees fit, even if it's annoying for fans of other teams.

confident yes....but he claims they were tired. had he played the same 11 for 3 games in 6 days his already meagre team of also-rans would have been ****ed and hull might have put 6 past them this weekend.Originally posted by Shaggy View Post
McCarthy took 10 fit and confident players out of his team and replaced them with dross who never feature. Totally different.
people claiming it's a disgrace are only getting so worked up over the fact it was aginst united IMO.People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

Tired my arse. He threw the ****er. He didn't want to risk any of his first XI getting injured before their winnable game against potential relegation rivals Burnley so he took the ****ing lot of them out the team. He threw the game, and with that in mind should be punished. Throw the book at them. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Every manager in the league I have heard comment about it have said that it is fair play. A number also said when they had rested players exactly the same things happened in terms of being asked to explain your actions etc. and no action was taken. I hope that the president is upheld.
Even the Chelsea fans interviewed on 5Live yesterday seemed to think it was a reasonable thing for Wolves to do."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."
