Hughes hasn't had 5 years to get to the point where he's totally lost the confidence of his players.

              Big ****ing difference.

I feel sorry for him - he's looked like a dead man walking all season and has acted with dignity in the circumstances.

Or to look at it another way (as we did when similiar accusations were sent at Rafa) he spent a significant amount of money as he had to revamp the squad and was showing considerable progress.

i think having the money tht hughes had is different to rafa. rafa has had more time maybe but with less money it is more difficult to suddenly revamp a squad.

by the way i dont think hughes should have been sacked. however when you have the money that city have it is inevitable that they want and they want it now.

We all know it takes time for a team to gel and the other problem when spending that much money is people expect you to be the best, but unlike Real Madrid, no matter how much cash City have they still can't sign the best players, because they're City. There's a couple of steps needed to get to the point where you can sign the best, starting by being in europe and maybe having won something recently. Yes he paid over the odds for a few players and tried to find alternatives, but it was the MD's fault for publicly going on about how much cash they had, everyone was doubling prices.

So what were Huges' targets? Top 6 and maybe a cup? Targets he was on course for, I don't expect Mancinni to be that great, winning with Inter while everyone else was relegated and recovering doesn't mean that much to me.

The worst thing you can say about Hughes is taht he's failed to get anything out of Robinho, but he looks like the worst sort of arrogant show pony in that team, never passes and has both eyes firmly on the Nou Camp.

it was a disgrace sacking mark hughes because he only won 2 out of 11 games. he has only just assembled a brand new team and was trying to mould them together. he should have been given the season at least. i mean FFS they are knocking on the door to the top4, in the semi's of the diddy cup and would only have got better as they got to know each other a little better. mancini in my eyes will get longer and will get city a major force in english football just as jose did for chelsea.
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

I love the sheer ignorance from the British press. Yesterday Mancini was labelled on Sunday Supplement as a 'defensive Italian manager' Almost as if all Italians manage in the same way, whilst Spanish managers have 'flair and love pass and move'. Not the case.

He's won cups at both Fiorentina and Lazio with his hands tied behind his back and his best players being sold by the chairman whilst playing some beautiful football.
