Watching the MOTD highlights it didn't sound like a football stadium either - the sound was "hollow" and defuse - a proper stadium bounces the noise back down and forward but the low angled stands in a big circle with that genteel roof design lets it all float to the heavens.

MOTD said they have conceded 2 or more goals in 12 of their last 15 games, last season they were scoring 2 or 3 so drawing games 2-2 or 3-3 or winning games 3-2, so I think it is something that has been coming for a while.
