If true I find that very strange given that he turned down Celtic in the summer.

He possibly feels he can progress further as a manager at Bolton with the sort of money available. Megson spent £20m whilst he was there, dunno about net spend.

Not sure why Coyle would want to take over at Bolton. It's not exactly a big step up - going from one struggling Premier League team to another. It's not as if Bolton have the potential to do a whole lot better than the currently are. He'd be much better off continuing to make a name for himself with his Burnley side. If he makes this move he could end up facing his old team next season in the Championship.

He's a hero at Bolton from his playing days I believe which may be a factor. But then supposedly he is a Celtic fan.

All I can think is that either a/ he feels the Celtic finances would make it difficult to do the job as well as predecessors or b/ that he only wants to go there when he feels he is ready.

Bolton seems like a poisoned chalice for almost any manager as the fans want better football but with results at the minute which is a lot to ask. Added to the fact that even survival will not necessarily be enough to endear you to the crowd who want European football.
