    Ferguson

Had this to say after his side's defeat today.

****ing double standards from him as ever, the cunt.

    Foy time decision upsets Ferguson

Sir Alex Ferguson questioned referee Chris Foy's timekeeping after his Manchester United side were beaten 1-0 by Leeds United in the FA Cup.

"The referee gave five minutes," said the United manager, referring to Foy's decision to add five minutes of added time during the third-round tie.

"That is an insult to the game and the players out there," added Ferguson, who admitted Leeds had deserved to win.

Ferguson has served a two-match ban this season for criticising a referee.

The Football Association handed the 67-year-old a four-game ban, with two of those suspended until the end of the 2010/11 season for his comments about referee Alan Wiley's fitness.

Ferguson was also fined £20,000 and warned about his future conduct.

Sunday's second half was punctuated by several petty disputes and an injury to Leeds goalscorer Jermaine Beckford, and there were five substitutions before the additional time was shown.

But Ferguson also turned his ire on his players after United were beaten by lower league opposition for the first time since they were beaten in Bournemouth in 1984.

"I didn't expect that performance, it was shocking. I've no complaints about the result," said Ferguson.

"Leeds deserved to win. They got breaks at times but deserved their luck - I'm disappointed," he added.

Beckford's 19th-minute goal was enough to secure Leeds a famous victory at Old Trafford - their first since 1981 - but Ferguson was frustrated at his team's overall display.

The Scot had picked a side including the likes of Gary Neville, Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov up front, while the less experienced Danny Wellbeck and Fabio da Silva were also on show.

He told MUTV: "We did speak about Beckford's pace up front.

"We were caught napping really, it was a bad goal for us to lose. The whole performance in the first half was bad. We never got going and the quality of the passing… the whole performance was just bad.

"I don't think any of the players can say they had a good day. Maybe only [substitute Antonio] Valencia, when he came on, can say that. Even then it took us about 10 minutes to get the ball to him.

"You expect us to get a goal at Old Trafford, and the intensity of our game improved a little bit in the second half. We had a lot of chances in the box, but on the day we didn't take them."

Assistant manager Mike Phelan admitted the defeat was a "major blow" to United's season.

"We wanted to progress in this Cup," Phelan told BBC Sport.

"We need to be in finals in Cups like this. To go out at the stage we have done is not acceptable."

United now have to dust themselves down for the Carling Cup semi-final against local rivals Manchester City on Wednesday, and Ferguson suggested that many of the team that faced Leeds would pay the price for an uncharacteristic display.

"We have to get this result out of our system as quickly as possible," added Ferguson.

"We have a semi-final on Wednesday and a lot of these players won't be playing.

"You have to view this performance in the right light. We'll make sure we're ready for Wednesday now. We had a team in mind, but there will maybe be a few changes for that."

Ferguson seems to be losing the plot more and more. Visited my ManU supporting friend couple of hours ago and he thinks this is one of the worst teams he have seen now that there is no Ronald bailing them out on every occasion. Rooney is good player but needs 5-10 chances to score and have to agree with him on Berbatov. Massive player but the footballing brain on him is on much higher level than his team mates so they cannot keep up with his ideas.

He was also fuming the wasted money on Tosic and Nani. Obertan in his opinion can do the same tricks as Ronaldo except he can do them only when there are no defenders around

After Queiros left there has been no tactical nose in the team, just Ronaldo popping for winners and in this season good luck because every other team are as inconsistent as they are.

Not sure I buy that about Berbatov. He has Giggs, Scholes and Rooney in many teams with him and Owen who for all his faults has good instincts and positioning. My feeling is that he is the Ian Bell of the football world - if things are going well for the side he will do excellent things and look good doing them but if things are going against you then you might as well have a chocolate fireguard.

Admittedly it appears that Tosic and Nani have been failures but I think that criticism of Obertan could have been leveled at Ronaldo when he went to United. It is clear that buying wingers at the top level is difficult and even players who show potential rather than are fully developed often cost big money.

I do however wish that people would look at this when talking about Rafa spending money on Babel for example.

Totally agree with this. Fergie has always been much better with a good assistant and Phelan was clearly far from his first choice. In the past he has always managed to get in someone to add a new dimension to the team and if he decides to stay after this season then I would expect him to look to bring someone new in again.

Agree on the Quieroz point. He was the specialist when devising the 4-6-0 system for United which obviously helped them when conquering Europe.

Any chance of the FA looking into this and giving him the extra two matches that were suspended from his previous run in with a referee?
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I think when the whole of the media report the same thing we have to take notice.
2 defeats in the last 6 league games.
A disgraceful F.A Cup performance against a lower league side, who in all honesty should be simply brushed aside.
Strange team selections, formations and tactics. Bizarre substitutions.
The total reliance on 2 players.
Highly paid, very expensive players not putting the effort in.
Losing a key player to Madrid and his replacement not being fit to lace his boots......why didn't he start in the F.A Cup?
The constant moaning about referees is now reaching an embarrassing point.
Ex Liverpool players, who were finished years ago coming to simply make the numbers up.
Being laughed at from the other end of the M62.

I know injuries have to be taken into account but in all honesty that's no excuse. It's obvious that the players don't want to play for the manager or for the Red shirt.....hard to take I know but it's plain for all to see.
It's easy to blame the Yanks but I'm afraid that doesn't excuse what's happening on the pitch.

Things are just not right..................at Manchester United.
