I think Mancini knows the value of having experienced players in and around the squad especially those who have won things. Look at Hyypia for us in the last few years - didn't necessarily play that many games but was a huge asset. The City squad (like ours) lacks people like that at the minute.

And Viera is not a big liability if he ever fails. Wouldn't command a big transfer fee, apart from high wages maybe but in a nutshell there aren't many risks associated with his transfer. Brings experience to their squad and he's won titles.

Players like Carragher should be filling that role for us now. There aren't many of them though as we have a young squad. I miss the likes of Sami and Didi though
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He's signed. I predict he'll be an abject failure.

Agreed, he cant run anymore. He showed that against us in the CL for Inter and that was nearly 2 years ago. Dont think he's a good enough passer to just stand in the middle and knock it around, he's all about being box to box.

Might have just been signed for the dressing room to be honest.

Not many in that City squad have a cabinet full of trophies and a wealth of experience...

He'll be a good signing, similar to McCallister for us no doubt.

His experience would be useful in the dressing room, and I guess we could always do with a player of his experience, but I don't see where he would fit into the team.
