    i think the vast majority of teams the main aim is to survive.

    i used to play hockey and a few of the northern teams (formby if i remember correctly and maybe warrington) would get promoted to the national league but it would almost cripple the club so the northern premier was the place for them .

      interesting - my house mate form uni was a good hockey player - from liverpool but played for a manc team that were meant to be good brookfield or brooklands or something like that, before iirc going on to play for someone like leek ??? all i know he was meant to be really good and played at a high level. god knows where he is now - last time i saw him we randomly bumped into each other in 2005 during the champions league parade.

        ah right he played at brooklands. i wasnt that good leek? hmm not sure i am a bit out of touch do you know his name? are you sure he didnt go to cannock or beeston? or neston maybe?
