Galatasaray claim to have signed Everton's Lucas Neill
Galatasaray claim they have signed Everton full-back Lucas Neill on a one-and-a-half-year deal.
Reports had suggested the Toffees were considering a £750,000 bid from the Turkish side for the 31-year-old.
However, a statement on Galatasaray's website said they had sealed a deal for the Australian.
Australian Associated Press reported that Neill said: "I'm delighted to have signed with Galatasaray and play for a big club with big ambitions in Europe."
He continued in a statement: "Galatasaray have a fantastic squad and I am looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead."
Everton were unable to confirm the move to BBC Sport on Thursday.
Neill agreed a one-year deal at the Toffees in September after becoming a free agent when his contract came to an end at West Ham.
International team-mate and former Liverpool star Harry Kewell and former Aston Villa striker Milan Baros are already playing at the Ali Sami Yen Stadium.
Galatasary, who have won the league title twice in the last four seasons, currently trail rivals Fenerbahce by one point and are coached by Dutchman Frank Rijkaard.
Neill began his professional career with Millwall in 1995, before heading to Blackburn six years later for a £1m fee and then he signed for the Hammers in January 2007.
The Sydney-born defender last played for Everton in the 2-2 draw at Arsenal in the Premier League on 9 January.
He also led Australia in their successful World Cup qualifying campaign which starts in June in South Africa.

So he's joined Baros and sick note Kewell. Obviously doesn't worthy his wages but then again a shrewd bit of business making a 750k profit on a player in only 3 or 4 months.
