Bale is not worth more than Suarez, but like Luis he is a sensational player and I think he would do really well at Madrid.

I think it is madness to even consider £50m for a one-footed player who has had 1 good season and 1 game in Milan

He obviously has the talent but what seems to be the trend now is teams demand a fee for a player that would be the absolute top end if he lived up to all the hype. So your seeing teams essentially pay for what he could become if everything goes perfectly at a young age, he'll never be worth more than £80m even if he turns out to be another Ronaldo.

            Always thought he's vastly overrated.

I used to think that about Ronaldo at one stage but then one season he practically single handedly won United the league title- 07-08

Whether we want to believe it or not Bale is turning into a phenomenal player. Some the the goals he scored last season reminded you alot of Ronaldo, spurs would be struggling with no hope of winning and Bale would just launch it into the top corner from 35 yards, over and over again

I really really hope Madrid get him and we keep hold of Luis. That would be awesome

If they get him, they won't go for Luis and thus he'd end up at the Gooners

Suarez will not end up at Arsenal. If he does i give up with this club. Im fine with him going to another league. But giving one of our main rivals for the top 4 one of the best players in the world is just pure insanity and it will see us fall even further back IMO.

It makes even more sense to fight off any bids with this Bale news. Losing him will be a big blow to Spurs. Although i expect them to come in with a bid for Suarez if Bale goes.

I'm astonished that he's reached such a high profile that they're prepared to offer that. As a commercial prospect he's a dud - Wales will never get in to a tourno, face wont sell anything, etc. So that valuation is based on football alone I honestly thought it was flapping around by Madrid and the eventual bid would be around £40m, I just don't understand the opening bid being so high. Should've offered £60m and I think Spurs would've sold at £70m. It now looks like he'll go for £85m+

Key here is that Madrid don't agree with that and Spurs are quite happy they feel that way too. If he's overrated then £80m in Spurs' pocket is nearly as bad as Suarez at Arsenal.

Personally I think they'll suffer without him but they could strengthen significantly. Over to you Mr AVB

                          £80m for Bale

There is far too much money in the game at the moment. He is a good player but wouldn't warrant being the most expensive player in the world. He is vastly over-rated by the media here because he is British.

Edit: Although far play to Spurs if they can get that kind of money (or more) for him
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

It's like the global recession never happened. Cavani, higuain, Bale, Suarez, Soldado all moving or with confirmed interest for massive sums (£35m+). The football bubble must surely burst at some point soon.
