Suarez would be well advised just to keep it shut now. Still has the opportunity to blame it on agents or misinterpretations of interviews back home. If Madrid get Bale, I doubt they'll for Suarez. And I can't see us selling to Arsenal

You're thinking of Paulinho
Even without the sale of Bale they have a good squad, better than ours which is so obvious I find it hard to believe people question it. The gap isn't massive but there is a gap.
If Lucas and Agger stay fit and we keep Suarez and Coutinho then I think we'll comfortably finish above Spurs.
Even if the above doesn't happen, atm I'm still confident we'll do it, but a lot will depend on our transfer activity and who they bring in as a CF.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is adamant Gareth Bale will not be sold, despite the Welshman indicating he wants to speak to Real Madrid.
The Spanish giants have stepped up their interest but Spurs are refusing to countenance selling Bale even in the face of a possible record £85m bid.
Real have yet to submit a written offer but Bale is keen to explore their interest, having always dreamt of playing for the Bernabeu club.

Can't believe this hasn't been posted.

Several Tottenham fans on Twitter, on blogs and on Spurs forums, have been slamming Spanish paper Marca over the past few days after the media outlet were caught red-handed rehashing an old Luka Modric quote, and stuffing it into the supposed mouth of Gareth Bale.
Marca splashed the front page of their Friday paper with a quote attribute to Gareth Bale demanding that Tottenham allow him to join Real Madrid this summer.
The headline roared “Keep your promise and negotiate with Madrid”, while inside the article Bale was reported as saying:
You made me a promise. You promised me if we didn’t qualify for the Champions League and a good offer turned up you’d listen to it. Well that offer has arrived and I want to play for Real Madrid. So keep your word and negotiate. I’m not interested in Manchester United or any other club. I only want to play for Real Madrid.
There was only one problem with those quotes.
Unless some quirk of unbelievable fate befell Gareth Bale’s mouth, those quotes were never actually said by the Welshman. Rather, they were said by Luka Modric in the summer of 2012 when the Croatian was trying to engineer his move away from White Hart Lane to the Santiago Bernabeu.

I'll happily take another bet if they don't sell Bale. I'm condfident we'll finish above them as things stand, but if they have £250m to spend, then that might change.Originally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostFancy a bet?
Come back to me on 17th August and if Bale is still there, we'll make a bet.

You are aware that the transfer window closes on 31st August, aren't you?.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

You're welcome.
My real question, which I thought was implied but I belatedly realize I should have spelled out, was, if the bet is dependent on Bale not leaving, why you would want to allow two weeks after taking the bet for Spurs to cash in on him and possibly spend £100m on new players..

I'll be up for it mate, so it depends on both Suarez and Bale staying? Or just depends how things develop even if they leave?Originally posted by RedReet View PostI'll happily take another bet if they don't sell Bale. Well I would have elaborated if I’d have thought you were being serious.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostYou're welcome.

Anyway, I was thinking if Bale is still there when the season starts then there is a good chance he’ll remain there and even if they do accept a late Real bid, they might be forced to panic buy.
Plus, if Spurs get off to a **** start with or without Bale, then he mightn’t want to make the bet at the end of August. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
