English hype - Torres is miles ahead. Compare them in the World Cup. Rooney will score in the group stage - that'll be about it.

Pedantics - he plays as a striker - will he be the most prolific ever in England? Doubtful.

Rooney has never been prolific and has never been judged based on that. I don't like him but he's England's best player at the moment, by a ****ing country mile.

Rooneys a top player having a great season so will be interesting to see if he can keep the standard up going forward in his career. He will be on every top teams wanted list this summer, Barca would be unstoppable with him spearheading their attack.

The thing is hes always been a good player, is this season the pinnacle of his career? Who knows, its not unusual that a player has a fantastic season then goes back to his normal standard, id expect rooney to do likewise. I liken him to Nadal in so much as I cant see him having a long career at the top, bright candles and all that. Hes got the wrong body for a prolonged career at the top of the football game.

There's no doubting that the ugly cunt has been superb this season. Horrid little ****, good player though. I'll never understand why he signed for the Mancs, I don't care that no other team at the time could have afforded him - he's a ****head for signing for them.

I'd like to see him do it for more than one season (well I wouldn't) before I go getting carried away, but he's obviously fairly brilliant. He's no Torres though, that's a fact.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

30 goals this season so far - he's been fantastic. He's finally beginning to fulfill his potential. As long as United keep him through the middle he score a lot of goals. IMO

Imo he brings more to a team then what Torres does. Love Torres, Rooney is better though.
                              We come not to play.

Obviously Torres is the better finisher (although not with his noggin) but Rooney is a better team player - and obviously can do "jobs" on either the left or right too.

I wouldn't swap T for R, but I'd imagine most United fans wouldn't do the swap either.

                                Two great players.
