They shouldn't conduct interviews so soon after something like this. Emotions are running high, I understand that, I understand he will be upset but blaming people like Shawcross, Taylor, or whoever is not helpful. The Taylor/Eduardo tackle was unfortunate - I admit I haven't seen this but most judges are saying it was unfortunate.

I will hold my hands up if, when I see it later, it was vicious, deliberate foul. Until then I stand by it.
Why? You can't just 'get over it' when you see a young player receive an injury like that.

Like I said I understand he's upset but being upset is no excuse for blaming Shawcross. He blamed Taylor last time and it was out of order. Sounds like he's done the same again.

            Heh

Stoke defender Ryan Shawcross has been named in the England squad for Wednesday's friendly against Egypt.

Only hours earlier Shawcross was shown a red card for a challenge on Aaron Ramsey which left the Arsenal midfielder with an horrific injury.

England coach Fabio Capello also named Everton's Leighton Baines and Aston Villa's Stephen Warnock in his squad.

West Ham striker Carlton Cole and Arsenal winger Theo Walcott have been recalled for the Wembley fixture.

              Wenger.

              What. A. Cunt.

"I'm not very happy with the tackle. We know what we are expecting, a battle everywhere, but we have now lost three players on horrendous tackles and I refuse to believe it's always coincidence.
That's right Arsene, it's a conspiracy to have every ****er go round breaking your players legs.

I have a lot of sympathy for Ramsey, but this is what I was talking about earlier. The bloke's a total bellend.

This is upsetting footage - Ramsey's foot is just dangling while the players are obviously sickened. Poor *******.

However I also feel sorry for Shawcross, no ****ing way did he intend any harm. No way. It was an accident, a sickening accident.

Bit of optimism in the title of that video.

Honestly I think that Wenger does himself no favours in not distinguishing the two - by which I mean the Eduardo and this one. In the Eduardo case whilst I don't think he actively went to injure the player Taylor did go in dangerously and recklessly probably partly as a result of a team policy to 'get at' Arsenal. While he was unlucky to be the one to break a players leg if you go in hard in that fashion the chances are that it will happen at some point. In that case Wenger had a fair point on one level - i.e. if teams were discouraged from using that tactic it was much less likely to happen. To single out the player in the way he did was out of order but his general point was undoubtedly correct.

This time it looks like Shawcross had no intention and literally any player in the game would have gone for the ball in that fashion and thought nothing of it in my opinion. The consequences were horrible but that is, as you say, a danger of the game. Wenger would do well to remember the sort of tackles Vieira and Petit put in when his Arsenal team were actually winning things.

Totally agree. I mean...even Pulis and the MOTD panel called it 'poor', 'clumsy at worst'. I just don't see it. It was a 50-50 and he went in fully committed. Similar to Skrtel the other night, although that was more of a head-on collision. It was just horribly unfortunate. I'm sure they've seen the replays and tomorrow Wenger, Fabregas et al will be a touch contrite. They ought to be.

From one of the stills I've seen, it actually looks like Ramsey's leg had "gone" before Shawcross even made contact. I may be wrong though.

I saw those and thought the same. It's difficult to make it out clearly. From one of the pics it looks as though Shawcross' boot is just coming into contact with Ramsey's leg as the ankle gives way. Difficult to tell but the one thing I am sure of is that it was an accident.

Just one of those things this one. Two players sprinting towards each other.

                              Wenger has no class.

He definitely does lack class. Christ, imagine what he'd have said if they'd lost.
