    Standard of Refereeing

    Lately has been shocking

    Peter Walton against City

    Alan Wiley today

Phil Dowd - Cup Final, basically bottled it, a clear red didnt even give a yellow, Vidic would have been banned in the league with Ferdinand out injured and Villa would have played against 10 for over 90mins with injury time.

These are basic laws of the game not being followed but you can bet **** all will be done about it

It's appalling and for me is undermining the competition to a degree. It's a joke.

It's not just this country. The German refs are really really bad. Admittedly not as bad as today!!!

23 fouls blackburn committed. Atleast a couple of their players should have been sent off. Kalinic and Nzonzi especially

25 wasn't it? Either way it was the joint most fouls committed by a team in a single game in the league this season.

Couldn't agree more, I commented on this a few weeks ago.

If the decisions are at least consistent you don't mind so much, but they're consistently ****e. How is the standard even worse than last season? They seem to have been instructed to not give soft penalties but in doing so they're turning down blatant pens and bottling decisions

All you can say is massively inconsistent - you've got the likes of Alan Wiley and Dowd who don't want to make the big dicisions and essentially bottling it and then the other end of the spectrum with Mike Dean and Steve Bennett who use any excuse to pull a card out of their pocket.

It needs sorting out big time as even if they went the draconian route of Dean and Bennett but was consistent across the board fair enough but it doesn't happen!

It is a total joke, I can't believe that Vidic didn't even get booked, then Dowd went card happy afterwards, that was a straight red, then lesser challenges in the middle of the pitch with lots of covering defenders earned yellows. I've given up on hoping referees will be consistent with each other, or even themselves in different games, but it's when they aren't even consistent in the same game that's the worst
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

How is this not a red card?

****ing hell, first time I've seen that. Did he even get booked for it?

That's outrageous and is evident of the way Allardyce has briefed his players today.

I managed to miss that....can't believe he only got booked

Chimbonda should have seen red too. Can't believe Allardyce was whinging about us getting all the decisions and swaying the ref. What a deluded, self indulgent **** he is

Kalinic should've gone for his challenge on Masher too. He built up a Rooney-esque head of steam and you knew he was pissed off with Masher and was gonna nail him.

Absolute ****ing scrubbers, alehouse football team.
