Some people have criticised Rafa for not signing him on the cheap. He hasn't completed a full match for at least 3 years. I consider moronic the fact that some people think that Owen could be a handful when he can't play more than 40 mins.

i don't know how to feel on this - a big part of me and this is the part that was out of my seat calling him a ****ing cunt at anfield - thinks **** him, he is only interested in race horses anyway.

but there is a part of me buried deep down, that remembers the boy wonder - That goal against argentina -that was our boy scoring a ****ing amazing goal, the fa cup final against arsenal, etc etc etc - he has been so unlucky with injuries, he made a few career mistakes, and it looks like he will just wash up now as a has been - bit of shame when i think back to his 'prime' at us, having just won european footballer of the year - i thought he would go on to be a great...... a real great, winnign leagues/cups with liverpool and england, breaking liverpool and england goalscoring records etc
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Of course he could've looked into it, but i just dont think he'd have been arsed, because i dont think he ever seriously considered taking him back on a free.

On a pay-as-you-pay short term deal, and scoring winning goals in derby-match stoppage time, he hasnt been a disaster for the mancs.

Even if he's earnt them just 2, 3 or 4 extra points, he's been well worth the small amount of money he's cost them. If they win the title by the odd point, i'm sure they'll be delighted with the short term acquisition.

No point asking them, they're ****ing useless.

I still think part of the attraction of sigining Owen for Fergie was his past association with LFC.

Maybe, but's that different to Rafa not having any insight into Owens injuries because he wasn't manager then, all owens records are probably there for him to look through, and some of the medical staff were here to ask also, he would have known all to well what a huge risk Owen was.

But as you say he may have never checked because he never even considered siging him.

He's a dirty little cunt. The day Rafa walked into Anfield we needed our best players to commit themselves to the cause but this little ****er walked out on us. Theres no way that we would have sold him, we wanted him to sign a new contract but the ****er refused and left. If he didn't leave at the point he was willing to drag out the last year of his contract and leave for free the next summer.
****ing ungrateful little ******* and now he's running around celebrating scoring goals for Man Utd of all teams.

I hope he is forced to retire so he can go ride horses for the rest of his life I hate the little **** that much

By your logic Owen could potentially become a United legend.

I don't wish injury on anyone ...even Owen.

It would have been better for him to have carried on playing (poorly) for the scum, missed some chances that cost them the league title and missing out on the world cup that way! Then realising he'd sold his soul for nothing
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

In hindsight i'm glad he went, our style of football evolved (for a while ) with him in the team it was always Gerrard, long ball over the top to Owen who was hanging on the shoulder of the last defender to score the goals.

The only thing that grates is that had he signed a contract and then we sold him we would have received bigger fee for him which would have at that point certainly help Rafa rebuild the crap Houllier squad he had inherited.
                          We come not to play.

On what basis have i suggested anything that points to 'legend' status?

I said he hasnt been a disaster signing, based on the meagre money he'll have cost them and the odd winning goal he's popped up with.

And i said, if they win the league by the odd point, they'll be delighted that they took Owen for a season.

Where does the 'legend' bit come from?

Is he short enough to become a jockey now?

I think he'd be first choice in the Scotland team
