3 weeks ago i put £1 on an at 124/1 accumalator bet for Arsenal, Newcastle, Rangers, Real Madrid & Roma to win their respective leagues. So i'l be rooting for Madrid every match!

        Hate Real.

Roma are the only ones who have no chance, IMO. What would you have got on that bet without them?

That was a fantastic match between Real Madrid and Sevilla. Best game I have seen in a long time. Real are well dodgy at the back but they are a joy to watch going forward, and (as much as I hate to say it) Ronaldo is just playing at a level I have never seen before. Incredible.

It'd be a travesty if Madrid won the CL with that shambles of a defence.

                why?

The main aim of football is to score goals no?

It would be a travesty if a defensive, pragmatic, boring, turdfest of a side won it IMO.

Interesting comment, given our team that won it in 2005.

The aim of football is to score more than the opposition - so it's to score goals and keep them out too.

You can deal with it when its your team

Football is far more exciting when teams are going at each other, rather than sitting back waiting for someone to make a mistake that you can capitalise on. Sure Madrid shift the odd dodgy goal, but they play some brilliant football whilst doing so, and its far more exciting to watch than the dull 1-0 snoozefests that we sit through.

I agree but it's not like you have to be defensively ****e to play good attacking football.

Exciting football can be played with a strong backline too and defending is just as much a part of football than attacking, the key is to get the balance right.

Madrid aren't defensively ****e though are they? They make mistakes, that can look bad, but their overall record isn't bad....actually they have a better goal difference that Barca

That's not really down to a 'water tight' defence though, is it?

i'd much rather watch for example a real vs barca game with continous flowing attacking footall ending up 5-5 than watch arsenal ( who as we all know play good football ) run out 1-0 winners over say bolton.

actually, really getting a bit excited already for the what is shaping up to be the biggest game of the 2009-2010 calendar and potentially the biggest / best game of the past decade when el classico hits sky sports in the not to distant future.

second best defence in La Liga, conceded only 20 goals from 25 games.

Pretty tight if you ask me.
