    Anyone ever gone corporate?

As a favour for a mate/my boss, i'm going to Crystal Palace v Cardiff with him on Saturday, as part of some 'client hospitality' exercise. We've got some sort of executive box and it's all suit and tie apparently, which is annoying.

I'd rather have my saturday morning free to relax, instead of going to the **** hole that is Selhurt Park, and watching ****e football which i could just watch in my lounge, on Sky anyway. But i've said i'd go and i cant go back on my word.

So, to cut a long story short, has anyone done this kinda thing before and are there any redeeming features?

So far, the only one i can think of is that it's a 12:45pm kickoff and i'll get home before the whole of the day is ruined.

I've done it once or twice before. Is the beer free?

One of the perks I found was scantily-clad dolly birds from Ladbrokes coming into your box - oo-er - and virtually begging you to put a bet on. We didn't have to move out of our seats, just placed the bet with them while looking down their tops. This was at Elland Road and me and my old man said "sod it, let's have a punt on 3-3" and it ended up 3-3
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Well it's starting to sound better

Yeah, it's all free, food and drink and everything else - whatever else is on offer But as we'll be 'entertaining' clients, i doubt i'll be able to get **** faced

Knowing my luck, they'll have ****ing blokes in tuxedos wandering around offering bets

Been to Tottenham (In the Gary Muppett Lounge ) a few times.

They have a ex player (Sometimes Mabbut himself but otherwise one from the 70's who may have graced the bench a couple of times) hosting the day. They do a Q and A and sometimes drag round an injured player etc

Food is half decent 3 course meal, half time snacks and a buffet at full time, but the beer is not free

Always some scantilys knocking about for the betting which brightens the day!

On the dress code, although they always say suit and tie I have seen people not suited and they dont seem to give a ****.

The worst thing about it is getting away from the **** hole location to the station in fear of your life!

Been on a few corporates. Got on well with the steward of the local Working mans club when used to live with my parents. Been to Anfield vs Bolton (free beer an buffet, compliments of Carlsberg), Wigan vs Cardiff (free meal and beer, compliments of John Smiths), Portsmouth v Liverpool (this seasons disgrace, free breakfast, and bucks fizz , compliments of Fitness First). Oh and a few years back Wrexham (free beer and buffet, compliments of Wrexham Lager ).

Basically if its free I'll go lol

Can be a good day out if your with the right lads, get on the free booze while your there, then off up town on the lash after

I was on some kind of corporate thingie when we played Monaco a few years ago. Good snacks and free champagne - **** game though obviously.

I do recall being instructed not to wear a replica shirt but otherwise dress code was fairly relaxed. Not that it made a difference to me as I looked ultra stylish as usual.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Went to the United game against us a couple of years back (the 3-0 game) on the corporate, the only highlight was eating free food and drinking free beer.

Been in the sky box at Anfield a couple of times and to be honest it's good for the experience, nice food free drinks etc but for watching a game I'd rather be out side

There is a button to higher & lower the volume of the crowd so you feel like you are listening to the radio without commentary whist watching the match on a huge 3D TV, it's not great TBH

Did the directors box versus Hull this season and that was great, met the King before the game

Also was in directors box v Middlesborough away a few seasons ago and that was decent
