And the latest prediction? Of course...

    Chelsea v Aston Villa

Chelsea's thrashing of Portsmouth in midweek was a tremendous way for them to bounce back after some disappointing results and it shows they are a top team.
They will want to put more pressure on Manchester United by winning this one, and Villa looked a bit leggy against Sunderland on Wednesday.
Villa like open games, that's when it suits them - but this one won't be like that.

    Prediction: 2-0

His "predictions" are pure percentages, always have been. Pretty amusing to see it in black and white though.

If he thinks they'll win by 2 goals could he at least not be imaginative and go 3-1

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

We do a Prediction League in my work, and i must admit I often give the likes of Chelsea or United a 2-0 scoreline, or even 3/4-0, dependant on opponents...I think they'll score, and be hard to score against...obviously Lawro thinks the same.

I remember back in 98 while working for Eagle Star we had a predictions league and the eventual winner just put down 1-0 home wins for every game (except if Man U / Arsenal away in which case 0-1).

Depressingly I used to do a predictions league with a group of mates and one utter bore - an Evertonian of course - won most seasons by doing exactly the same. 1-0 for every game, except 2-0 when a big four team were at home (except us obviously), and 0-1 when they were away.
