I really hope Rooney's ankle ****ed. That would end them. Doubt it though.

Predictably Ferguson is playing it down.

Man Utd boss Sir Alex Ferguson: "Wayne Rooney got a kick on his ankle and we're not sure how serious it is right now. He might be out of Saturday but we'll take a look at it tomorrow."

I understand, but I could never wish an injury on anyone - not a bad one anyway! I hope Rooney gets into a pattern of sleepless nights just before games which makes him tired, grumpy and unable to fully focus on his football until the end of this season.

I agree but not in this case. I'm desperate for them to win **** all this season and I want to see the media sweating on his fitness for the world cup etc. etc.

You're all getting far too excited over Rooney's injury. You'll jinx it FFS.

As an Englishman I struggle to cheer Rooney but, I honestly hope he makes a recovery in time for the WC.

the fact it all changed might have something to do with fergie making some brilliant tactical-game changing substitutes

                            Yeah I don't get that.

I would love Rooney to break his ankle or something. Why the **** should I have any pretend sympathy for him? Oooh poor millionaire has broken his ankle, what a tragedy.

A lot of people seem to confuse injuries with death. No way would I ever wish death on any rival footballer, indeed anyone, not even my own worst enemy.

But injuries? **** yeah. Ideally I'd like to see Rooney, Vidic, Ferdinand, Scholes, Neville and Berbatov all pick up injuries that would rule them out for 12 months. I'd laugh my head off. Why shouldn't I?

                              And my boss.

Basically, if it's recoverable, it's fine. (obviously, I not a nutter who would consider injuring someone mysef, I just often hope that the planets line up that way.)

Looking forward to Arsenal-Barca tonight. Come on Barca! This could turn into a decent CL. Obviously us going out so early was a disaster but there's a chance the semis could feature no English teams, which would be ruddy great.
