Me & the missus are thinking of getting our house extended. Will be mailing G&H for their advice on how to execute these things expediently & with no fuss.
Bingo. Because they can work faster, harder and more efficiently. Its not just about the labor though.
I was recently speaking to one of the regional managers from Lidl up here in scotland he said to me that they bring over a team of german workers to build and set up their big stores from top to bottom inside and out ready for opening in the space of just 2 weeks. They will work night and day then move on to the next project. Get a british team to do the job and it would take 10 weeks
British workers are in great demand all over europe. It's a falacy that we are lazy *******s, maybe a bit compared to poles etc but not Western Europeans. By the time working directives, strikes, hollidays etc have been taken into account, our workers are a lot better value for money than most.
What we in the UK are absolutely **** at is managing projects and companies. Germans manage better than anyone else they have to with their precious little workers walking out if they dont have gilt edged terms and conditions. That the managers operate so effectively with these constraints is the real eye opener which we should be looking to learn from.
