The result is we cant buy a goal at home to fulham, whilst City have netted 11 in their last 2 games. Our lineup yesterday had ONE goal threat in it. City's would've had about 4 or 5.
but then they have the equilavent of buying 4 torres so it makes sense.

they have 'given away' 50m worth of forward players in Jo and Robinho, more than we have spent in probably 3 seasons

It's not that we dont HAVE goalscoring threats - Rafa just takes them off or leaves them on the bench.

Our starting XI yesterday had ONE player in it that's proven he can score/create goals in the PL - Gerrard. That's all.

There were two more on the bench in Kuyt and Yossi, but rafa decided not to start them and only bring them on with less than half an hour to go.

So obvious that we were going to be toothless. Rafa could have goal threats coming out of his ears, and he'd still favour hard working pedestrian options that couldnt threaten a paper bag.

isnt that most peoples issues with kuyt to though !!

your right though.......quite embarrasing how little attacking creativity we play with.

Kuyt's hardworking and not the ideal attacking option, but he's still a fairly regular goalscorer for us, averaging around 1 in 3 when it comes to league goals per league starts.

Compared to the impotent Aquilani and Maxi, he's prolific.

Any excuse to give Rafa a beating. It's so lame.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

In another thread you're banging on how under achieving our squad is. So, you're admitting that City are better than us now?

You've clearly got an agenda, here's the proof.

Johnson is going to be quality in a couple of seasons, no doubt.

I wanted us to go for him after Borough got relegated. We were trailing him for a while there

He been awesome since he joined City. A proper winger that likes to take players on 2 or 3 at a time and beats them. We were waiting to get him on a free in the summer along with lots of other teams and City knew that

I was hoping we might have made a move in January, with the money we raised in sales. But thanks to dumb and dumber...

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I had no idea he was THIS good tbh. And city are one of very few teams in a position to be able to pay £7m for a player that only has 6 months left on his contract

I'd seen a bit of him although not alot, but I thought he had the potential to be the next good young English winger and was probably worth the punt on at that price (even given his contract situation). I thought it was a similar situation to Young when he left Watford

Johnson is class, remember watching him for Boro a few seasons ago. Mad though isn't it as he wasn't really a regular with them until this season.

It's not just his skill with the ball, he has a really good attitude this lad, nothing fazes him and he's very level headed, something that City obviously noticed prior to buying him.

He still looks a bit naive to me. There were a couple of moments where he took on the Utd full back and he lost the ball and left them open to the counter. You can't afford to do that at the highest level
