Surprising news - Phil Neville is not rubbish at summarising on the radio.
He has also claimed that defenders are taught to head the opposition players head in some situations. I may just be having a bit of a brain fart but when would that be a good option, sounds like a very odd thing to teach anyone."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Why? I don't see many players embracing that idea.
Suppose they mean if it looks like you wont get the ball...head butt the man your challenging for it and make it look like you tried...and in the process putting the opponent off. Mad eh.

Like when Terry smashed into Kuyt yesterday for instance? You know, when Terry was fine while Kuyt needed treatment.Originally posted by dww View PostSurprising news - Phil Neville is not rubbish at summarising on the radio.

The forehead is harder than the back of the skull surely. And it roughs up the attacker and might make him pull out next time, or at least concentrate less on his header, if he thinks he's about to get butted again.
It's a theory anyway..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.
