So what has the award been given for then?

Spurs deserved to finish 4th, no question.

But why has he been given the award?
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

He took over last season and went from having "2 points in 8 games" to playing in the champions league the very next season, whilst building a triffic squad.

Maybe I just don't understand what your trying to get at when you say we are punching above our weight. Surely the same could be said about fulham though, so what makes Hodgson more deserving?

Although hodgson is a contender, getting 4th spot is over the course of a whole season and includes more games than the Europa league. This award has been given by the sponsers of the premier league, not Europa league.
I dint notice that earlier. Fair play to 'Arry then

          What's so difficult to understand?!

Either the manager of the league winners wins the award, or they give it to the manager of a smaller club who are punching above their weight (like Burley/Ipswich last time) - hence Redknapp.

The squad is virtually the same as last season under Ramos, only with a few more expensive purchases on top of the other ones. Mainly players bought and sold once already, of course.

No doubt he's done a good job but this whole 'taking a team from the bottom of the league' thing is more a reflection on the hopeless Ramos than Redknapp. Spurs were never, ever a bottom of the league side in the first place.

Exactly, a side of players refusing to play for a manger, to a side of players wanting to play for a manager, hardly brian science, bound to be an improvement, and if we'd have performed any where near our level, well, Spurs would be just where they've always been...out of the top 4.

Biggest surprise for me is that we were even still in the hunt till the last couple of games looking at our season, Spurs should have been long gone imo if Arry had truly improved them to the extent people are implying.

As has been pointed out, this award is just for the league right? In which case they can hardly give it Hodgson as Fulham aren't guaranteed a top half finish, and have a pretty terrible away record.

I'm not sure who I'd have given the award to, but I don't have an issue with Redknapp getting it.

manager of the premier league. Harry redknapp

manager of the season. uncle woy.

There must be some other managers award, as it says its only 2nd time that a manager who hasnt won league has won it. David Moyes has won some manager of the year award a couple of times, so cant be this one?

Hodgson has indeed won the LMA Manager of the year award.

IMO for Fulham's overall season/achievements Hodgson deserves some recognition. Is there a Football Writers Manager of the Year award? If there is RH deserves to win that.

Ancelotti should have got it, yes i know he has multi million pound squad of players (he never spent that much though), but first season in the Premiership and possible double - and done in quite some style too.
                                We come not to play.
