I think that is a common fault of all England's pace merchants.

True. He's frustrating as hell but i'm still shocked it looks like he isn't in the 23.

Thought he was worth the gamble.

I said at the start of this thread i had a feeling SWP would go, not a bad shout

I think Lennon's improved in this area and SWP has some of his earlier days to prove he's competent in the final-ball aspect.

For what it's worth, i'd have taken Lennon and Walcott, and left out SWP.

Walcott can be an extra striker, and with the non-threat that is Heskey, an extra striker could be handy.

I'd've taken the vastly-improved Lennon along with Johnson (plus Cole of course) and left behind the headless chickens Walcott and SWP.

if the list is right then parker and johnson i'm gutted aren't in it.

The heskey/bent situation was a bit meh either way - but i really feel parker over carrick and johnson over swp deserved to and should have been taken

other than that though the rest is right.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Yeah i'd have taken Adam Johnson and Joe Cole too. Plus Walcott and Lennon.

In fact, my 23 would've been:

                      Green, James, Hart
                      G. Neville, G. Johnson, Ferdinand, Terry, King, Dawson, Carragher, A. Cole
Lennon, Walcott, J. Cole, A. Johnson, Barry, Lampard, Gerrard, Milner
                      Rooney, Crouch, Defoe, Bent

I'd also have taken Dawson over Upson but that doesn't look like it's gonna happen.

                            Usual blather about the ball...

Denmark coach Morten Olsen after their 1-0 friendly defeat at the hands of Australia: "We played with an impossible ball and we need to get used to it."
The Italians' criticism of the Jabulani ball is relentless. Here's keeper Gianluigi Buffon: "I noticed the first day that this ball wasn't right. The World Cup brings together the best players in the world and to those players you must provide something decent. The new ball is not decent." That after striker Giampaolo Pazzini described it as a "disaster" for strikers.

No surprise for me that Walcott has missed out. The Barca game for me especially showed that he doesn't have the bottle for the big games (the pass which eventually lead to a lucky scrambled goal for Bendtner should've been an easy goal for Theo but he chose to give the ball away instead).

He and SWP are much the same, very little end product and at the highest level I just don't think they cut it. We're so **** on the wings and defense at the moment I can't see why anyone expects us to do well.
                              Play Ball!!!!!!!
