How can you decide on whether or not you take a player to the World Cup based on 1 friendly match?? Surely you have got to look at how good of a season he has had. Baines has been one of the most consistent left backs in the league this season.

I think it would be quite harsh to take Huddlestone over Parker. Parker has had a very good season, despite how **** West Ham have been.

Huddlestone's had a much better one IMO, a regular in a team who finished 4th. He has a much better range of passing and I think England lack that in the middle of the park in Barry's absence and with Carrick totally out of form.

It's just my opinion - I don't think he is anywhere near good enough for international football.

Just to point out, that not only is there a whole sub forum for the world cup but even a thread in there all about the England squad which would be perfect for all the above posts

                England team to face Japan:

David James, Glen Johnson, John Terry, Rio Ferdinand, Ashley Cole, Theo Walcott, Tom Huddlestone, Frank Lampard, Aaron Lennon, Wayne Rooney, Darren Bent.

Does that mean Lennon will play on the left then? Hmmmm. I'd really rather Joe Cole played there.

Looks like Lennon on the left, aye. I'd rather take Lennon than Joe Cole.

However if i had it my way, i would leave Walcott at home and Joe Cole go instead.

I prefer Lennon over Walcott on the right, but I'd prefer Cole over either of them on the left. Only this season has Lennon got his final ball sorted (something Walcott is still lacking in), and therefore stick either of them on the left and they're not going to be as efficient. Cole has played that position in a major tournament before, so I'd rather if anyone was on the left out of the three it was him. It's not looking good for him though if he's been left out of this starting line up.

Totally agree with all of that.

If Walcott didnt have pace he would have nothing, simple as. Reminds me of Babel in a way when he sticks his head down and just runs, no idea of what he is going to do next himself.

Cole on left with Lennon on right would be best option but Capello seems to like Walcott.

Lennon done more in his 15mins versus Mexico than Walcott did in 75, says it all.

i wonder if Lennon and Walcott hate each other lol, its always the talk between lennon and walcott and they are still heaps young, surely with another 2 worldcups of this lennon vs walcott talk they r gonna hate each other lol

Is being an England fan on par with the disappointment of being an Everton fan?
