Is the real factor here not the fact that City are buying rather than the fact he is English. Were the prices Barcelona or Real paid for players last season really reflective or market value or those paid in the first rush of Chelski signings?

Erm, good question. Personally, I think in the modern game Ronaldo's market value is around 80m especially if you take into account shirt sales and sponsorship. Ibrahimovich, not so much.

So I guess my answer would be sometimes you get value for money sometimes you don't.

O'Neil has come out and said Milner wants to leave Villa. He can leave for City but only at the right price.

Sounds like another Gareth Barry saga, but I suspect that this time the player will leave.

So Villa are set to become City's feeder team.

I'd like to think we will see another Barry saga but I would hazard a guess that O'Neill won't hold out as long as he did with us.

What a **** Milner is, I expected more loyalty out of him, his career was going nowhere before Villa signed him.
