Ridiculous isn't it? £12 mil on a guy who never plays for your club? If this was Rafa (back in the day obviously) he'd get shredded from all ends. Spoke to a few Mancs earlier, they're not losing sleep of this fella going. They're also not happy at the prospect of their major transfer rumours being freebies (Ballack and Raul). Told em ages ago, they're more skint than us!

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

It's a huge f*ck up by United but it'll be swept under the carpet and never mentioned again.

What are you asking us for? Have your sources ran dry? If they have I haven't heard anything about it.

MAN CITY SET FOR DAVID SILVA TALKS

Manchester City have been given permission to hold talks with Valencia winger David Silva over a move to the Premier League.

Cash-strapped Valencia have already been forced to sell David Villa to Barcelona this summer and now look poised to offload Silva.

The 24-year-old, who is currently with the Spain squad at the World Cup finals, has repeatedly been linked with a switch to England, with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United mooted as admirers.

Champions Chelsea are also rumoured to be fans of Silva, with the attacking midfielder recently admitting he would be open to a move to Stamford Bridge.

However, it now appears City have stepped up the hunt for Silva after being given the go-head to discuss a deal with the player.

Valencia confirmed Roberto Mancini's side have been allowed to meet with Silva, but stated no agreement has been reached regarding a price.

"As has been said, there is interest from Manchester City and we have permitted them to talk to the player, but we have reached no agreement and we have not talked about a fee," said Valencia's deputy chairman Javier Gomez.

Juan Manuel Mata has also been linked with a move away from the Mestalla, with reports claiming he would join Villa at Barcelona.

Gomez, though, has rejected that piece of speculation and has told reporters that no negotiations are taking place regarding a deal for Mata.
fire sale at valencia and we have no money and no manager

If Silva is going, we NEED to sign Mata.

would think with silva going, they'd want to hang on to or extort the buyer's of mata's contract.
