van der Vaart is a class player, I'm a but disappointed he joined Spurs. I know he hasn't been fantastic lately but he's a player with a big heart and a lot of ability. I think he'll surprise a few of you. This is the kind of signing which can take a fairly average team Luke spurs to the next level.
Although to get the best of him he should playcentrally I wouldn't be surprised if Harry tried to play him on the flanks. Then I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't make an impact but that'd be due to mismanagement. Either way I expect him to do a very goodjob and perhaps transform spurs team ad he did with Hamburg and Ajax.

He'll be injured for about half the season I expect.

Ahead of who though? Bale and Lennon have got those spots well sewn up.
Now he's playing Modric in centre-mid (when fit), I think he'll go with VDV off Defoe, Bale & Lennon wide, and a middle two of Huddlestone (or Palacios) and Modric.
Playing someone like Modric in CM really bucks the trend in modern football but unbelievably it seems to work most of the time.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

That's pretty lightweight for me. Will struggle against big well organised Defenses. Guess they will have Crouch as a plan B.

Well I wasn't thinking like that, more so thinking he'd be on the bench for a long time and that he doesn't have the profile that typical English managers like, ala Redknapp who thinks that he has to play 4-4-2 each game etc.
I think he will get a shot in his natural playmaking position but do you think that he'll be happy to give up the temptation of using 2 strikers on a regular basis to increase the quality of ball play andbsll retention? I for one don't think he can. Although Rafa's lack of pace nay be his saving grace when it comes to deploying him wide, unlike what's already there he's rather slow.
It did in France and has in Greece. He even scored a decent amount for us.
Very limited player yes but someone who can score goals.
I reckon Houllier would love Cisse and Heskey up front for Villa, with Young and Downing providing the crosses.
Matt Derbyshire scored goals in Greece.
Whilst his record in France was decent, I can't say I had much time for Cisse.
Particularly his personal antics. Coupled with his temperamental attitude, moaning nature and his lack of finesse in front of goal, I was quite glad when we got rid. All in my humble opinion of course.
I can understand why Houllier would want him. I can also understand why he is being linked to Owen, Cisse et al, but for me they already have the English version of him in their ranks.
Sunday papers:MANCHESTER CITY are preparing an astonishing £90 million deal to take defender Gerard Pique from Barcelona.
City gaffer Roberto Mancini has made the former Manchester United man his top target, and has asked his club to lavish £50m on the transfer with an extra £8m-a-year wages over five seasons.

WTF
Pique is a good player but £50m
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
