          In terms of squad quality I'd go for Spain.

          Having said that they look to have a difficult route with almost no 'easy' games.

          There's also the stat of no european team having won the world cup outside of Europe, but surely that has to end sometime...
          The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

            That's crossed my mind too but i think i'm right in saying this will be the first non european hosted world cup, that'll be played in a 'european' type of climate. It's winter in South Africa now.

              New Zealand will win it ofcourse. But Ivory Coast deserve to be on that list ahead of some of those choices

                        I did have England v Brazil and Germany v Spain semi's, with England winning a final v Spain, but that's just going with the heart.

                        Head says Spain v Brazil final with Spain taking it.

                        Not sure Germany will make the semi anymore either now, with their injuries. Diego is a **** up of a manager but Argentina have a lot of talent and may sneak past Germany.

                            I wonder how spain will deal with the pressure because its the 1st time they've come into a tournament as red hot favourites....and not underachievers! Fully expect England to get knocked out once they come up against a side with a dangerous striker! Brazil look a more solid outfit under dunga and will take some stopping if kaka hits form!
