Conal Platt joins Cambridge from Forest Green Rovers

    BBC

Cambridge United have signed 23-year-old Forest Green Rovers left-winger Conal Platt on a two-year contract.

Platt began his career in the Liverpool youth set-up before spells with Bournemouth, Wycombe, Weymouth, and Rushden and Diamonds.

Manager Martin Ling told the club's website: "He's a player that will excite the crowd, being able to go on the outside of defenders.

"He gives great balance and is also able to get goals from wide areas."

Anyone know if he has been any good on his lower league wanderings?

Never heard of the guy Dave. You'd think if he's any good at the age of 23 we would of heard of him by now.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Yeah but there is a significant difference between the needed level to be good at league two/conference level. I was wondering if anyone followed teams at that level at all.

I'm hopeful that after last seasons aberration Ling can get Cambridge back up challenging.
