Fair play, but i would've thought that their advertising revenues from SSN werent really that significant in the bigger picture.

Its probably not in the scheme of things, but anyway, the platform works so I think one of the two channels should give it a go. Please not Five Sports News, that would be a nightmare.

Well Setanta used to have their own sports news channel, so maybe ESPN should launch one.

It's the whole concept that's wrong. There just isn't enough content to warrant a whole 24hrs of coverage so in their desperation they start peddling rumours etc, over analysing every insignificant sporting incident, then move onto voicing opinion as fact and it all snowballs downhill from there.

I'd just ban 24/7 sports news channels!

Agreed. There's still sky3 on freeview, perhaps they should show the alternative news show at 6pm and 10pm. Give people the option of watching that rather than normal news.

And the 24/7 non sport news. BBC copying Sky is just wretched. "And back to the bloke we interviewed ten minutes ago, as we have nothing new to report".

Yeh but the BBC would still fill it with stories about bee farming in Norfolk.
                      Really?

They'd have a "wacky" interview with the bee farmer in all his gear, too.
