Supposed to be the pinnacle of the sport, and they make a major **** up like that in the biggest game so far. There were no players blocking the view, it wasn't a thunderbolt that made it happen super fast, it was just the kind of mistake that can only be put down to the linesman not looking, i.e. not doing his job. Even the ref could have given it FFS it was that clear.

Shame, it gives us an excuse if we go out for the media to focus on that than the shambolic defending for the German chances. Defending that was inexcusable. Upson heading in from 6yards does not make up for the fact that he has been an embarrassment.

The comparrison is just lazy and tabloid. A wrong decision around cms is one thing, happens every game for throwins and corners etc, it's touch and go. Never seen a linesman decide the ball didn't go out for a thrown in by that amount, nevermind a goal. A decision like that cannot be excused for any other reason that the linesman ****ed up in a huge way, so much so he should be sent home ala Graham Poll. Same level of incompetence.
