He is a cheat and should be banned for the rest of the WC. After all Blatter will not be best pleased that an African team have been cheated out of HIS WC on african soil

Yeah, it's cheating. That's sport, that's football. Gerrard dived in Istanbul to win us a pen. Didn't hear too many grumbling then.
      Did he **** dive.

It's a bit like the whole Mourinho thing. You have to understand that some people don't agree with the win at all costs philosophy.

Guttuso dragged him back as he was through on goal and should have been red carded.

Probably the mentality that has seen us go 20 years without the title. But anyway, I couldn't give a **** about Ghana or Uraguay. Off to bed.

I felt more tonight for Ghana than I did for England, really quite a lot more.

Me too. I had a massive football argument with my dad about that whole cheating incident too

Hardly 'cheating' in a sense. It's in the rules - it's not 'fair' but it's allowed. Suarez took one for the team, he obviously knew giving away a penalty is far better than letting it in - he didn't do it with the intention of not being caught.

Besides, Uruguay should have been awarded a penalty when their player was blatently tripped. Terrible penalty miss by Ghana.

Bet 99% claiming what he did was disgusting would find it okay if England were in the final and one of our players done the same.

He isn't a Liverpool player and he's a cheating cunt. Sure, from Uruguay's perpective he did the right thing, but applauding it is just ****ing stupid.

                        Stefan Henchoz in 2001.

Was anyone crying out for morality and justice to prevail then ?

Dunno that i'd applaud him, but i'd be a lying hypocrite if i slagged him off for that. As you said, if it had been us in the CL and our of our lot did that and we got through, i wouldnt be gutted at him for doing it.

Still think he could've just headed it though.

It's a weird one, becuase technically giving away a foul is cheating too - you pay your punishment by the freekick being given. In this case he was punished by a penalty and red card (suspension). So in that sense, he's left the field and once he's served his ban, he's 'done his time'.

Of course we're all biased when it's our club, but we know, and the other 98% of the population tell us, that x cheated. We're hypocrites because we excuse it when it's in our favour. Doesn't mean it's not cheating or that he isn't, objectively speaking, a cunt.

Is being hypocritical about Henchoz the same as applauding a player doing it without the natural bias of favouring your own players. By that logic all cheating is to be applauded because someone with a vested interest somewhere is excusing it or benefiting it.
