    Poll: League versus Champions league

Following on from another thread which competition do YOU think is the most "important"?

Personally I think the league reflects your team's ability as it is a competition which takes place over 9 months and 38 games rather than a knock-out 2-legged competition.

Yes I was amazed to find that people will argue that the Champions league is more important. I said I'd imagine opinion is divided on the subject but I'd still expect most LFC fans to choose the league.

I really think it comes down to whether you are taking a subjective or objective view when you answer.

Objectively, I would say winning the CL is far more important, if you consider the glory, publicity, cash etc. Subjectively though, as a Liverpool fan and given we havent won the ****er in 16 years, I would say it is more important to win the league.

Its got to be the league we have to finally win it sometime soon were a bit away from the top but why not have a chance at winning it?

Most probably will have to start over fresh next year for another title charge

Everyone wants what we dont have. Being European champions carries more weight than domestic champions but since we havent won the league for beards thats more important to us.

Looking at it properly its the Champions League all the way. Looking at it as a Liverpool fan, I want to win the Premiership.

I think the Champions league lost a lot of it's prestige when they started letting "non-champions" in. When it was champions only there was no debate at all. Now you can finish 4th and still win the champions league it devalues the competition in my eyes.

lol good post even though you wanted me out of the argument before t***.

League by the way every time.

Doesnt mean as much wining the champs league if you didn't win your own league to get there.

League, then the Champions League after that.

The question has nothing to do with what you and whoever else it was were arguing about as far as I can see. The league is easily as important as the European Cup from the point of view of you wouldn't prioritise one over the other given an equal chance of winning both. But that doesn't change the fact that to win the European Cup is the ultimate accolade in club football.

Shanks once said that being in Europe was good for the club and the city but that the league is our bread and butter and what we want to win every year.
                        That's good enough for me.

Whatever you say, objectively, winning the Champions League is far more important than winning the league.
